Did you know?

Turkish Pestemal towels are rooted in the culture of ancient Turkey and served many uses. Pestemal towels are very large, intricately woven towels intended for baths that were used extensively in Turkish bathhouses during the 18th century.

Usually coming in sets, the towels held a special place in Turkish roots and tradition, used by a bride for her ceremonial sending off bath to dry off before her wedding. Later, the Pestemal towel became popular in other parts of Western Europe, being used in communal baths that sought to mimic the Turkish bath experience throughout Europe during the Victorian Era.

The Pestemal towel traditionally was of very large proportions, being around 90cm x 180cm (3ft x 6ft). Nowadays, Pestemal towels have an array of uses. From the perfect beach accessory to a stylish picnic blanket, the Pestemal towel has a use for every one of your adventures!
